THE FIRM
BGT Fund Administration was founded to provide administration services to hedge funds that were looking for an alternative solution to large administration firms. Unlike many large administration firms, our clients are in direct contact with our principal and all the work is performed locally by professionals specializing in the financial industry.
At BGT, we encourage our clients to ask us questions and use us as a valuable resource. With many of our startup funds we work together from the inception, helping with the initial set up, answering any accounting related questions, reviewing permanent documents and working with the attorneys and prime brokers.
Because of our expertise and stream lined operations, we are able to provide the cost-effective administration services to the funds regardless of the assets under management. BGT is built entirely on client and industry referrals.
THE PRINCIPAL
Lara Goldberg is the founder and the principal of BGT Fund Administration. She specializes in the financial service industry and have extensive experience with hedge funds and fund of funds, particularly in fund accounting matters.
Lara began her career in 1997 working part time at Lloyd and Lloyd, CPAs, while completing her degree in accounting from Cal State Northridge. In 1999, she moved on to a full-time position at Rothstein Kass (RK later merged with KPMG). By 2002, Lara was leading fund administration department in RK’s Beverly Hills office. As a manager, Lara led the team of fund accountants in servicing all clients’ administration needs and developed and implemented procedures necessary to archive the highest quality of work. Lara’s clients varied in AUM, from under a $1M to over $1B, and included several of the largest funds in Southern California.
In 2004, fund administration department of RK was sold to BISYS Group, Inc. and closed Beverly Hills office (BISYS later merged with Citi). Unwilling to relocated, Lara founded BGT Fund Administration in 2005 and has been sharing her experience and commitment to the best service with her clients at BGT ever since.
